SFA Chapter 91 Donates $10,000 to the Green Beret Foundation

Several months ago, a former Tm Leader of mine, Major Greg Povenski, put me in contact with BG(R) Frank Toney of SFA Chapter 91.  At that time, the Directors of the GBF and myself were busy getting the word out regarding what the Foundation will set out to do for the Special Forces community.  I spoke with BG(R) Frank Toney on several occasions, and he was excited to see an organization formed which would be dedicated to the support of our wounded, ill and injured Green Berets and their families.  He was quick to help out in any way possible and got to work spreading awareness of the Foundation.  Mr. Toney asked the members of SFA Chapter 91 to belly up to the bar and pitch in to help their brothers; a request that the members the chapter were eager to respond to.  His call to action yielded $10,000 from the chapter members.  Mr. Toney has been a great leader in the SF community and continues to serve his country as the Sr. Advisor to the Iraqi Terrorism Bureau.  The GBF also approached Mr. Toney and invited him to be a part of our Board of Advisors, which he graciously accepted. GBF Board of Directors member, CSM(R) Joe Dennison accepted Chapter 91’s check from COL(R) Chris Short on the 1st day of the New Year.

On behalf of the entire SF Community, the GBF would like to thank BG(R) Toney and all of the members of Chapter 91 for their generous donation and appreciates their support.
