Army Special Operations Command to remember fallen Soldiers, May 27

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, May 20, 2010) – Thirty-five Army Special Operations Forces Soldiers killed while supporting combat operations during the past year will be honored May 27, at 2 p.m., when their names are added to the Fallen Special Operations Soldiers Memorial Wall. The annual ceremony, hosted by Lt. Gen. John F. Mulholland, commanding general of U.S. Army Special Operations Command, will be held on the Memorial Plaza.  This year's ceremony includes the unveiling of a redesigned Fallen Special Operations Soldiers Memorial Wall, now featuring a centerpiece sculpture by renowned Oregon artist Lorenzo Ghiglieri.The memorial itself is in tribute of more than 255 ARSOF Soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defending our nation in the war against terrorism. From many hometowns across the country, around 450 family members, friends and special guests of those fallen Soldiers are expected to attend.Families of about a dozen Soldiers who could not attend the 2008 and 2009 ceremonies have also been invited to attend this year's ceremony.After the Memorial Wall is unveiled, the names those who died during current combat operations will be read. They are:
