NEK Hosts Live Auction To Benefit The GBF
Mon, 2010-06-28 20:59 — admin_gbfOn June 16, NEK Advanced Securities Group hosted a social and live auction that benefited the Green Beret Foundation during the Special Operations Forces Industrial Conference in Tampa, FL. Bruce Parkman, CEO of NEK and a Board of Director for the GBF, hosted the event, which raised almost $32,000 for the Foundation. Other beneficiaries of the events activities included the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and the Naval Special Warfare Foundation.
Advertising for the event was done by word-of-mouth as well as NEK directors personally distributing invitations to VIPs throughout the SOFIC sessions. Banners were also placed along a boat located at the slip where NEK hosted their booth.
The party and live auction was held at Hattricks Tavern in Tampa with a live band and open bar. Mr. Parkman, in his usual style, got the crowd wildly enthused throughout the entire evening. An AR-15 rifle, Glock pistol, Chris Reeve Green Beret Knife, various tactical gear & equipment, an IPAD, and numerous door prizes were among the items donated by a number of individuals. The event was held to max capacity and the majority of the crowds stayed until closing for the opportunity to win one of the many raffle items that were in high demand.
The auction items were donated by NEK, Glock, ProfessionalSoldiers.com, RMI, Granite Gear, London Bridge Trading Co., Tidewater Tactical, Streamlight, Atlantic Signal, Massif, Smith Optics, Cocona, Protect the Force, Safe Boat, USMI and Mission Essential Personnel, who co-sponsored the event. The GBF thanks every one of you for your generous support of our wounded and their families in their time of need.
