The Gathering
In June 2027, the Regiment, families, and supporters gather in Colorado Springs to mark 75 years of Special Forces. A weekend of remembrance and celebration, anchored by the 75th Anniversary Golf Tournament and the black-tie Regimental Ball at The Broadmoor.

The Campaign
The most ambitious initiative in the Green Beret Foundation’s history. $3 million over 19 months. Every dollar advances two enduring purposes: building permanent capacity through a family of Special Forces Group funds, and sustaining the core mission of the Foundation across the entire Regiment.
The first generation built the Regiment. Our generation must build the Foundation worthy of it.

The Nation’s only VA-accredited Veteran Service Officer program dedicated exclusively to Special Forces, plus the Next Ridgeline Program for life and leadership after service.

Scholarships, caregiver assistance, spouse initiatives, family resilience programs, and Gold Star Family engagement for the people standing behind the warrior.

The story of Special Forces began with the Originals of 10th Group in 1952 and grew across the world and across generations. Each Group built its own history, identity, and legacy of service. The campaign honors those legacies through a family of dedicated funds. Give to the Group whose legacy means the most to you, or to the campaign as a whole.

Heritage
“De Oppresso Liber”: To Free the Oppressed
The Army Special Forces are established. 10th Special Forces Group stands up at Fort Bragg, the first of the Regiment.
President Kennedy authorizes the Green Beret as official headgear.
Green Berets formed the core of the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam Studies and Observations Group, the joint task force that ran cross-border reconnaissance and unconventional warfare missions across Southeast Asia.
Green Berets helped in the 1989 operation to remove Manuel Noriega from power in Panama. Soldiers from the 7th Special Forces Group seized the Pacora River Bridge during Operation Just Cause, stopping Panamanian Defense Forces from reaching Panama City.
The insertion into Afghanistan after the attacked on the world trade center - Their mission was to work with Afghan Northern Alliance forces to overthrow the Taliban. The best-known team, ODA 595, joined General Abdul Rashid Dostum’s fighters in northern Afghanistan. They traveled through mountainous terrain on horseback, built a partnership with the Afghan forces, and called in U.S. airstrikes against Taliban positions. Together with other U.S. special operations teams and Afghan allies, they helped capture Mazar-i-Sharif in November 2001.
