The Green Beret Foundation (GBF), an international nonprofit dedicated to supporting U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers and their families, announced the appointment of Randy Baker as Chief Development and Marketing Officer.
GBF exists to support all generations of Green Berets, their families, caregivers, and survivors through direct assistance across Casualty Support, Health and Wellness, Transition Services, Family Support, and Gold Star and Surviving Family programs. Baker’s appointment reflects the Foundation’s continued investment in leadership as demand for services grows and the organization advances its long-term sustainability and impact.
“Randy’s leadership arrives at a pivotal moment for the Green Beret Foundation,” said Charlie Iacono, President and Chief Executive Officer of GBF. “After two years of exponential year over year growth, and as we scale our impact and expand funding for mission-critical programs worldwide, our focus remains on strengthening support for the U.S. Army Special Forces Community while positioning the Foundation for sustained, long-term growth and continued market consolidation. Strategic team expansion is essential to meeting this momentum, and Randy brings the experience, vision, and global perspective needed to help guide the organization into its next phase of growth.”
As Chief Development and Marketing Officer, Baker will lead the Foundation’s fundraising strategy, donor engagement, partnerships, and marketing efforts, supporting both immediate impact and long-term growth across the organization.
“I am honored to serve the Green Beret Foundation during a time of meaningful growth,” said Baker. “The Foundation has earned tremendous trust within the Special Forces community through its commitment to impact and transparency. I am excited to help lead this organization forward, expand its reach, and ensure continued, meaningful support for Green Berets and their families.”
As the needs of the Special Forces community continue to evolve, the expansion of the Foundation’s development and marketing leadership enables GBF to broaden its base of support, deepen partnerships, and sustain the programs that have become a lifeline for thousands of families. This investment reinforces the Foundation’s commitment to long-term impact, financial strength, and mission-driven growth.
Since its inception, the Foundation has provided support to more than 26,000 Special Forces families and invested over $33 million directly into the community; additionally, the Foundation leads and facilitates the only VA Accredited VSO Program for the Special Forces, where their efforts have resulted in more than $2.3 million dollars per month in permanent disability payments to former Green Berets. The organization maintains a strong commitment to accountability, transparency and professional donor stewardship, with 85 percent of every dollar donated going directly to programs and services.
