The Green Beret Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting soldiers of the U.S. Army Special Forces and their families, is pleased to announce Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) Danny Orosco as the 1st Special Forces Group Veterans Services Officer.

Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) Danny Orosco joined the Green Beret Foundation as the 1st Group Veterans Service Officer after 29 years of dedicated service in the U.S. Army, 26 years of which were spent with 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne). While in 1st Special Forces Group, CSM(R) Orosco served as a Special Forces Communications Sergeant, Special Operations Detachment Alpha Team Sergeant, Special Forces Headquarters Support Company 1st Sergeant, Sergeant Major, and Command Sergeant Major, deploying numerous times to the INDO-PACOM and CENTCOM areas of responsibility. A native of southern California, CSM(R) Orosco is married to his high school sweetheart, Sasha, with whom he shares two beautiful daughters and a 9-year-old grandson. It was when his grandson tragically lost his father in a motorcycle accident that CSM(R) Orosco knew it was time to move on from almost three decades of military service in order to be there for his family, and today he dedicates his time to serving as a grandpa, youth sports coach, and mentor to young people. Still located in the Joint Base Lewis-McChord area, continuing to serve his fellow Green Berets as a Veterans Service Officer at 1st SFG(A) was a natural progression, and outlet for his ongoing commitment to the Special Forces community.
