Green Beret Foundation Tribute
Statue entitled “America’s Response” sits permanently watching over the Ground Zero Memorial. Also known as De Oppresso Liber, this 16-foot bronze sculpture was commissioned to commemorate Operation Task Force Dagger, which was launched by Special Forces in October 2001. These elite warriors, the Horse Soldiers, rode their horses through the mountains of Afghanistan, becoming known to the American people as the living embodiment of America’s Response: Spirit, Courage, Protector.
