The Director of Development & Strategic Events is a senior fundraising leader responsible for driving diversified revenue through frontline fundraising and the strategic execution of mission-aligned events. Reporting to the Chief Development & Marketing Officer, this role balances frontline fundraising with event leadership while collaborating with development teammates, as well as the service delivery and administrative teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of major donors, corporate partners, and sponsors
- Secure five- and six-figure gifts through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
- Lead strategy and execution of GBF fundraising and cultivation events
- Set event revenue goals and sponsorship strategies
- Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and partners to deliver high-quality, mission-driven events
Requirements & Qualifications
- 5–7 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, including major gifts and events
- Proven success in securing significant gifts and corporate sponsorships
- Strong relationship-building and team collaboration skills
- Proficiency with CRM systems (preferably Blackbaud Raisers Edge)
- Commitment to military culture and serving Special Forces families
This is a full-time, exempt, remote position that includes periodic evening and weekend hours in support of mission-driven events. The role involves regional and national travel, offering meaningful opportunities to engage directly with donors, partners, and the Special Forces community.
