The Director of Marketing & Communications is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all marketing, communications and social media activities of the Green Beret Foundation. This role is essential to ensure that the Foundation has an impactful, consistent brand voice, clear messaging and effective storytelling that supports program impact, fundraising, donor stewardship and organizational growth. The Director is a key member of the organization’s leadership team who is a skilled navigator with the ability to navigate complex situations, build strong internal and external relationships, and meaningfully impact organizational impact and success while representing the organization publicly, actively participating in high-profile events and constituent engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute the organization’s marketing & communication strategy and brand in collaboration with the Chief Development and Marketing Officer.
- Lead social media strategy, content planning and execution, including the organization’s Media Channel operations.
- Develop and implement content management and deployment including website and other communications strategies.
- Oversee the organization’s e-Commerce strategy and operations
- Manage organization’s public & media relations activities
- Coordinate compliance activities and brand protection
- Effectively collaborate across internal and external audiences and stakeholders to maximize departmental and organizational outcomes.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 5–7 years progressive professional experience in managing marketing & communications functions including direct experience with nonprofit, mission-driven organizations.
- Strong knowledge of marketing, communications and brand management strategies and tactics
- Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills
- Strong computing skills with knowledge of key software applications and tools used in marketing and communications activities
- Ability to effectively balance strategy and planning with hands-on execution of departmental functions
- High attention to detail, strong project management skills
- High degree of professionalism and executive presence
- Commitment to military culture and serving Special Forces families
This is a full-time, exempt, remote position that includes periodic evening and weekend hours in support of mission-driven events. The role involves regional and national travel, offering meaningful opportunities to engage directly with donors, partners, and the Special Forces community.
