ABOUT THE GREEN BERET FOUNDATION

The Green Beret Foundation (GBF) provides all generations of U.S. Army Special Forces Soldiers and their families with emergency, immediate, and ongoing support. GBF assists over 5,000 Special Forces families each year. Since its inception in 2009, GBF has invested 86%, or 86 cents of every dollar, into its programs and services, which has totaled over $16 million that has directly supported the Regiment and its families. GBF is the only nonprofit solely dedicated to supporting Green Berets and their families that has achieved a 4-Star Rating with Charity Navigator. Also, GBF is the sole special operations nonprofit accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the purpose of preparing, filing, and appealing of disability claims.

JOB SUMMARY

The Donor Relations & Partnerships Coordinator for the Green Beret Foundation is a multi-faceted position whose primary job function is to support the Director of Community & Strategic Events (DCSE) and development team to enhance and create a sustainable culture of philanthropy. The Donor Relations & Partnerships Coordinator is pivotal in contributing to the overarching success of the development department strategy by generating revenue and broadening the organization outreach through strategic partnerships. Additionally, this role standardizes the public perception of the Foundation at events, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Event Engagement:

  • Create DIY third party micro events for social media to grow revenue and engage followers to host fundraisers.
  • Coordinate with Director of Communications and Marketing on content capture, social media live streams, etc. at Foundation events.
  • Develop marketing collateral and content for community and strategic events.
  • Represent the organization at scheduled sponsor events, tradeshows, and community functions as assigned.
  • Standardize the look and feel of Foundation offerings at events, to include tabling set up, swag bags, welcome packets, etc. 

Donor Stewardship:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Communications and Marketing on annual fundraising initiatives, including: Giving Tuesday, End of Year giving, and LYBUNT development and execution.
  • Support and grow recurring giving initiatives.
  • Liaise with programs team to gather content, testimonials, and program delivery metrics for donor-centric communications such as the Quarterly Impact Report, solicitation letters/donation appeals, etc.

New Business & Partnerships:

  • Proactively identify new CCV opportunities for organization.
  • Take charge of partnerships and CCVs upon closure, ensuring a smooth transition from the negotiation phase to active collaboration, to include developing and implementing marketing strategies tailored to each partnership or CCV, leveraging various channels to maximize visibility and engagement.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for CCV campaigns and events, including impressions, reach, and engagement metrics, using data-driven insights to optimize strategies.
  • Prepare after action reports, including financials and metrics, for partners following the conclusion of an event or campaign.
  • Research, present, and execute affiliate marketing programs that align with the mission and values of the Foundation and have the potential to drive revenue.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact with GBF Leadership, the general public and military audiences at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism. Ability to manage and influence external vendor relationships.
  • Demonstrated understanding of military culture and veteran issues, the emotional impact of combat, and the challenges faced by the military and veteran communities.
  • Proficiency using computers and electronics equipment. General knowledge of various software, applications, and programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Zoom, and constituent relationship management software.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe suite (Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (occasional evening hours).
  • Must show initiative, self-motivation, and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities. Ability to adapt quickly and easily to changing organizational needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment related to controversial and/or culturally sensitive subjects. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poise.
  • Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environment.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years’ experience in nonprofit or offset with 4+ years of for-profit/non- profit management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly walk, stand or stoop; occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

WORKING HOURS

The Donor Relations & Partnerships Coordinator works a 40-hour week. Some evening and weekend hours will be needed on occasion to meet the needs of the Green Beret Foundation community and the strategic revenue growth plan for the Foundation. This position may require travel (10%) or as needed but aligned with strategic initiatives and meaningful outcomes.

REPORTING

This position reports directly to the Director of Community & Strategic Events (DCSE) who will develop an annual set of performance objectives with you, provide performance feedback, and conduct your annual performance review.
