The Green Beret Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting all generations of U.S. Army Special Forces and their families, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lee Bagan.
Lee Bagan is the Director of Global Intelligence at Bridge Ventures, LLC (a subsidiary of Stripe, Inc.). He designed Bridge’s Financial Crimes Program and co-led its Compliance Program – efforts that powered Bridge’s rapid expansion and acquisition by Stripe in 2025.
Before joining Bridge in 2024, Lee served as a U.S. Army Special Forces Officer (Green Beret), with deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Lebanese–Syrian border. He was appointed by the Commanding General of U.S. Army Special Operations Command as the first Special Operations Director at the U.S. Treasury, a position he held until retiring from the military in 2024.
While on active duty, Lee was authorized by U.S. Special Operations Command to enroll at Stanford University, where he became the only student ever to graduate from Stanford Law School in two years, while simultaneously pursuing a Ph.D. focused on criminality in the digital-asset sector.
In recognition of his early dedication to serving others, the University of Texas at Austin established the Lee Bagan Endowed Scholarship Fund in his honor in 2008. A Life Member of the Special Forces Association, Lee was inducted as a Distinguished Member of the Special Forces Regiment and unanimously appointed in June 2025 to the Board of Directors of the Green Beret Foundation.
