Nick Brown is currently a Cincinnati Chapter Board Member for the GBF. He was born and raised in Dayton, OH and resides with his wife and daughter in Springboro, OH. Recently, Nick left his job as an acquisition logistician for the Air Force Combat Rescue Helicopter Program at Wright Patterson Air Force Base to pursue an MBA at Antioch University in Yellow Springs, OH.
Nick enlisted in the Army as a Special Forces Candidate (18X) in April of 2003. Nick completed Army Infantry Basic Training and Airborne school at Fort Benning, GA and was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC where he began the Special Forces Qualification Course. In October 2005, Nick was assigned to Operational Detachment-Alpha 736 (7136), Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), at Fort Bragg, NC. There he served as an Engineer Sergeant (18C), a Communications Sergeant (18E), and Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) from 2005-2009. He deployed on several Counter Narcotics Training Missions to South America and served two combat deployments in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom X and XII. In late 2009 Nick was selected as a JTAC Instructor and was reassigned to United States Army Special Forces Command (Airborne) (USASFC(A)), G3 Training, Have Ace West Detachment at Cannon Air Force Base, NM. Nick eventually became a JTAC Evaluator and was reassigned back to Fort Bragg, NC as the USASFC(A) JTAC Program Manager in 2011. Nick joined Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne) of the Ohio National Guard in 2013 and was medically retired in February 2016.
