Otis retired from the US Army in 2009 as a Special Forces Lieutenant Colonel following 25 years of service. Since retirement, Otis has been the Business Development Director and Manager for several companies. He started his own company in 2009, LTO Enterprises, LLC, which provides business performance coaching, business development support and leadership training to clients. Otis is currently Head Coach of the Colorado Springs Grizzlies High School Rugby Club and the Colorado All-State Varsity Rugby Team. He is professional certified coach through the IPEC and certified project trainer through The Institute of Project Management.
While in the Army, Otis had a broad range of experience from being a private driving tanks older than himself; to an engineer in Alaska, running heavy equipment in the most extreme conditions; to leading Green Berets on complex and dangerous missions around the world. Otis also had the unique experience to be part of new units and command organizations, working to create these new units into cohesive effective organizations. This experience ranged from arctic conditions in Alaska to counter-terrorism units in Iraq and Afghanistan, to NATO Special Operations Headquarters. Being part of these organizations from the ground up, has given Otis an immense amount of experience in creating successful organizations.
In the business world, Otis has used those same skills and experience to build successful teams, business units and companies. Otis has lead capture efforts and proposal development for large and small firms. These efforts have ranged from small task orders to large multiple entity Joint Venture efforts. In addition to his business development efforts Otis has run multi-million dollar programs for the government spread across the US and overseas.
Otis’ passion lies with helping people succeed. This passion has driven Otis through years of coaching rugby and now drives his business coaching career. Otis works hard to give back to the community that gave him so much by volunteering his time to help veterans transition from service and begin their own business and coaching rugby.
