The wives, survivors, and caregivers of Green Berets are ‘the Quiet Professionals behind the Quiet Professionals,’ with needs as unique as those of their soldiers. The Steel Mags program, exclusive to the Green Beret Foundation, provides them with the unconditional support, access to critical resources, advocacy, and experienced guidance that they need in order to build successful and thriving lives for themselves and their families. As the wives, mothers, daughters, and sisters of Green Berets, the Steel Mags embody the warrior ethos as they face life’s challenges and adversity head-on.

The Athena Scholarship is awarded to spouses of Green Berets who are pursuing their undergraduate or graduate degree. The Scholarship is intended to be used solely for tuition. Applicants must be the spouse of a current or former U.S. Army Special Forces soldier.
