Fort Liberty, NC – August 29, 2024—The Green Beret Foundation is proud to announce the addition of the 3rd Group Warrior Fund to our growing portfolio of programs and services. This strategic consolidation marks a significant step forward in our mission to streamline and strengthen the support network for the Special Forces community.

The Warrior Fund, renowned for its dedication to the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) and their families, has officially joined forces with the Green Beret Foundation. This partnership marks the fourth organization to align with the Green Beret Foundation in recent months, further consolidating the nonprofit space focused on US Army Special Forces.

In addition to this merger, a substantial asset transfer is taking place, ensuring the continued support of vital programs and expanding our capacity to serve those who serve our nation. This integration not only amplifies the impact of our combined resources but also reinforces our unwavering commitment to the well-being of Green Berets, their families, and the broader Special Forces community.

“We are honored to welcome the 3rd Group Warrior Fund into the Green Beret Foundation family,” said Charlie Iacono, President & CEO of the Green Beret Foundation. “Through this strategic consolidation, we are building upon the Warrior Fund’s track record of mission success and significantly enhancing our collective support for the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne). This ensures that their members, families, and support elements receive the care and resources they need when time matters most. Together, we are stronger and more capable of fulfilling our shared mission. I’d like to personally thank Matt Karres, the 3rd Special Forces Group, and all the volunteers and benefactors of the Warrior Fund for their unwavering dedication.”

“I am excited about the addition of the 3rd Group Warrior Fund to the GBF team as we continue to strive towards our goal of building the most effective and efficient nonprofit support network – one ready to meet the needs of current and past members of the Regiment, and their families. At the GBF, we are moving towards this goal with a sense of purpose and urgency; we must be prepared for the demands of an uncertain future in an ever more destabilized national security environment.” LTG(R) Ken Tovo, Chairman of the Green Beret Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Matt Karres, Director of the 3rd Group Warrior Fund, stated, “The 3rd Group Warrior Fund is extremely honored to join forces with the Green Beret Foundation to strengthen our long-standing support for the Soldiers and Families of the 3rd Special Forces Group. Together, we are stronger, and I am very excited for what the future holds for the 3rd Special Forces Group family.”

The Green Beret Foundation remains dedicated to serving the Special Forces community by providing immediate, responsive, and enduring support. With the addition of The Warrior Fund, we continue to build a robust network of programs designed to meet the unique needs of Green Berets and their families, ensuring they have the resources they need to thrive both during and after their service.
