The Green Beret Foundation is proud to support the iCare Concussion Group in demonstrating a new protocol for treating brain trauma. We believe this initiative will significantly improve treatment for all military personnel.
Every day in the United States, we lose twenty American warriors to suicide*.
The Green Beret Foundation, in concert with the iCare Concussion Group, has developed a “proof of concept” project designed to showcase the effectiveness of the iCare concussion assessment, treatment, and management protocol. Developed over the past decade, this protocol targets symptoms of Traumatic Brain Injury, persistent post-concussion syndrome, and PTSD. Our goal is to help patients achieve their maximum rehabilitative potential.
Under the supervision of iCare, ten Green Berets will undergo treatment for post-concussion syndrome. Supported by leading medical professionals and researchers from Canada and the United States, all patients will be treated by certified medical doctors in the US supported by the iCare medical team. The iCare team boasts over 100 years of collective experience and will evaluate treatment regimens and monitor patient progress. This collaboration represents the first comprehensive examination of multi-disciplinary interventions in such cases.
To enhance patient support, we have established a Private Social Network exclusively for project participants and their families. Research shows that a strong support system is crucial for individuals dealing with the issues we are addressing. Through the Private Social Network, patients and their loved ones can connect with others facing similar challenges, fostering a supportive community throughout the project.
This project is urgently needed. While individual medical specialties have shown efficacy in treating specific symptoms, more research is needed on the optimal sequencing of treatments for these cases. Our findings will benefit soldiers by potentially saving countless lives. Further benefits will accrue to healthcare professionals, patients, insurance companies, and medical-legal professionals.
Seeing is believing. Watch the video below to witness the transformative effects of our concussion protocol.
*According to the 2022 National Veteran Suicide Prevention Annual Report, the daily suicide rate among U.S. military personnel could be as high as forty.
