Wednesday August 28, 2024

As we prepare for the upcoming lacrosse showdown between Green Beret and Navy SEAL Veterans at Gillette Stadium on Monday, September 2nd, we proudly present the Green Beret Foundation’s uniforms for the Stars & Stripes Classic.

“The Stars and Stripes Classic Lacrosse Uniform is more than just a jersey—it’s a living tribute to the incredible legacy of the Jedburgh Teams from World War II. The design reflects the unwavering spirit of teamwork that was forged in the crucible of Operation Jedburgh, a spirit that continues to thrive in today’s Special Forces team rooms and extends even to the lacrosse field. At the Green Beret Foundation, the essence of the Team is at the core of everything we do every single day. This uniform symbolizes our commitment to honoring the past while empowering the future, ensuring that the values of courage, camaraderie, and sacrifice are never forgotten.”

These uniforms stand as a powerful tribute to the heroic legacy of the Operational Groups and the Jedburgh Teams. Their bravery and sacrifices were instrumental in the success of the Allied invasion during World War II. In 2024, we commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, a defining moment in history when these warriors risked everything behind enemy lines to secure the freedoms we cherish today.

To honor this significant anniversary, the Jedburgh Media Channel released the documentary “Unknown Heroes: Behind Enemy Lines At D-Day,” shedding light on the valor and sacrifices of these unsung heroes.

We invite you to join us on September 2nd as we honor their legacy on the field. These uniforms represent the unwavering spirit of courage, sacrifice, and dedication that defines the Green Beret Foundation and the US Army Special Forces community.

The inclusion of the number 22 on the sleeve is a tribute to Green Beret MAJ(R) Darren Baldwin, who passed away on December 23rd, 2021, due to undiagnosed traumatic brain injuries that caused irreversible neurotrauma. The number 22 was his lacrosse jersey number at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

The Green Beret Foundation’s MAJ(R) Darren Baldwin Silver Star Families Support Fund is dedicated to supporting U.S. Army Special Forces Silver Star Families who are battling long-term physical and mental health challenges. This fund also provides essential support to the spouse or caregiver of the Green Beret. Silver Star Families are those whose service member—whether active duty or veteran—has been wounded, become ill, or is dying due to combat-related injuries or illnesses, alongside the spouse or caregiver who supports them.
